I recommend this book for any school leader or school staff looking to build leadership capacity in themselves to create a healthy school culture.

Loved this book, very easy read and resourceful. I have pulled several passages from the book in order to anchor conversations about change in my school.
So smart - so needed! Great ideas that let you see where you fit in your school community and what you are really contributing to it! Great read!
If you ever have a chance to hear Dr. Muhammad speak, do not pass up the opportunity! Great book and a fabulous leader in education.
Anthony Muhammad provides a clear path for the types of changes necessary in education if we are to move all students forward and help all students to become productive and successful members of society. His book is not about test scores but how to provide students with the relevant tools and skills needed to be life long learners and problem solvers.
I have to admit I loved this book before I opened it, after hearing Dr. Mohammed speak. This book meets us right where we are, with the students we are working with. The information he and Dr. Hollie present is fresh, practical and is at work forming me into a more reflective, student-centered educator. It really looks deeply into your beliefs.
This was a snoozer. Very boring. Nothing that isn't already out there.
Very practical advice on how to break the chain of failure within a toxic school culture. The second half has lots of good practices that teachers can use right away to work in an urban school setting. Overall, this is one of the best books I've read on turning a school around. Love it!!!
